Woodworking Workshops of the Shenandoah Valley
Period Joinery Construction Classes
Jeff Headley and Steve Hamilton, working together for over 40 years, are continuing a family business operating since 1918, building and restoring fine pieces of furniture for many of this country's finest and most prestigious homes and museums.
We are located 60 miles West of Washington DC in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. With 5 generations of experience we have a proven background in traditional furniture construction. We will give you an unequaled learning experience in the art of building fine period furniture made in America.
With each of our workshops you will learn the requisite joinery needed to reproduce that piece of period furniture. We will show you how to hand cut dovetails, cut and fit mortise and tenons, hand carving, veneering and marquetry, plus many more techniques. With most classes you will be sent a cut list so we can concentrate on period joinery along with a tool list so you know what tools are needed to reproduce each piece.
